Show Your

Artistic  Side

to The WORLD

Your art on our furniture will brighten someone’s day. Think about it and read the following story of how some children in Chicago will not let parents sell a chair which has a painting by a girl in Houston.  What can be more rewarding than that? Nothing, RIGHT? A customer ordered a tree-top table and three animal chairs to go with it.

Contact Us to share your work with the world.

They requested that we paint them with the ladybug on the table top.

A high school art student helped us paint the furniture and finished with a high gloss polyurethane. Three years later we got an email from the customer that the kids are grown up and would require new furniture and she went to explain how the kids won’t let her dispose of the older furniture.

A lot of people have good ideas but they only become valuable when someone appreciates it enough to invest in it. Art on furniture becomes a lifelong memory and you as the artist become part of their lives. A lot of times people think too much of publishing. In reality, it’s quite simple, begin with thinking of the end product. Make a mental note or maybe on paper. Artworks can sometimes take a long time to finish and you don’t want to forget what was it that you started to make. Next, set up a workspace that is organized to provide an environment which is conducive to creative thinking.

There are many publishers who will let you contribute your work on a royalty sharing basis. Which means that if they use your artwork they will share a portion of their earnings. It’s important that you carefully the contract and understand it.

Each publisher has different terms and conditions so make sure you read and understand.  Once you are past the legalities you can focus on your artistic skills. Each publisher has unique requirements and catering to different genres.

You must choose a marketplace which is more aligned to your taste. Artists usually want to take their time to polish their creation to perfection while publishers almost always have a deadline and you have to learn the magic of balancing between the two.

The most important thing to understand is if you are sharing your work with more than one publisher you can easily end up in trouble if your contract doesn’t allow it. Most publishers want to be able to control the copyrights. Its understandable as graphics usually or often are used for branding. Make sure you create a portfolio. You will need it when negotiating a new contract. having portfolio shows you are a  professional and have your work properly categorized so publishers can easily see your strength in different genres.

Try to negotiate to get your publisher to give you tribute for your work. If not on individual pieces then at least on their “about us” page and a link to your Blog or website.
